| These .22 Short Conversion Units are very rare with the more common 7-3/8 barrel. To find a .22 Short barrel in 5-1/2 is a whole nother level of RARE. To find a barrel with Special Order sights COMPLETELY OFF THE CHART!!!! This item has not been passed around amongst Smith Collectors. It just came from the estate of a retired Air Force Colonel. First time it has changed hands, probably since 1963. There were other 41, 46, and 52 related items. All this stuff is from the early to mid 1960s based on serial numbers and types of markings. I have no doubt these sights were done at Smith & Wesson. This item is almost NEW! I would guess perhaps 100 200 rounds fired just to check it out. |
