| Hammer & Gipson Custom Rifle in 7mm Mauser (7x57) built on a Mauser Action - 23" barrel with a band sling stud, band front ramp with hood, and no barrel rear sight, but a Lyman receiver peep sight. Checkered grip cap and trapdoor steel butt plate. Stock - French walnut with superb point pattern checkering, ebony fore end tip and a shadow line cheek with 13-3/4" LOP. The scope is a Weaver Medalist M9V on Redfield mounts.
The only markings on the rifle to indicate a maker is the Hammer & Gipson mark. This is a very well done custom rifle, almost certainly 1930s vintage. I believe the entire rifle has been carefully refinished sometime subsequent to its original manufacture, and remains in 97+% condition. This rifle has been proudly owned and used - and very well cared for - by the same gentleman for over 25 years. He acquired it in its present condition, and reports that it shoots very well with both 140 and 160 gr. bullets. A wonderful gun at a very good price.
