This 1960 SO3EL has 27-1/2" vent rib, ejector barrels choked M/IM (.19/.30) with LOP 14-1/8” over the original checkered butt, with drop of 1-1/2” to 2-1/4” and no cast. This gun is all original and remains in EXCELLENT PLUS overall condition.
The Boehler Antinit Steel barrels retain 98% of the original factory finish and have perfect bores. The remainder of the metal on this gun is at least 97+% condition.
The wood is overall about 92% with areas of thinning varnish and a number of handling marks and scratches - evidence of the guns use in the field. The checkering remains about 95%. Most of the checkered butts from 40 years ago have been cut and replaced with pads by now.
Do you even want to think about what this gun would cost to reproduce today? Hard to imagine there are folks out there paying $6k and up for current production, machine stamped, box lock shotguns. A classic that will go up in value, or a pimp gun that looses 35% with the trip out the door! To each his own!
