Try to find a Pre War 28ga anything! This is a very RARE and high quality SxS. Look at what people are paying for Japanese SxSs these days Parker Repros and Model 23s bringing $5k - $6k. But hey what can you buy for that money today in a new gun? Nothing interesting! I mean $3k for a Spainish gun? Please!
This is a timeless classic that will be around another 79 years.
I was contacted by a gentleman named Jim Cate, author of a new historical reference book on the Sauer long guns made for hunting and sporting purposes before 1946. He stated, The Habicht Model was/is quite common, but NOT in 28 gauge. Yours had to have been a special ordered gun. It is the first that I am aware of in this particular model, and any prewar Sauer in 28 gauge is rare...no doubt about it.
